Our curriculum aspires to instill a lifelong love of learning. At
Thorney Island Community Primary School, we aim to offer an
exciting, challenging curriculum which is ambitious for all
learners. Through our curriculum we develop essential knowledge,
skills and understanding which will enable pupils to achieve
their potential. Our curriculum encompasses not only the formal
requirements of the National Curriculum but goes beyond to
ensure that our pupils are exposed to rich and varied
experiences. Our aim is to enrich every child’s school
experience by creating an environment where they are encouraged
to succeed. We believe strongly in using sensory and/or
first-hand experiences to engage pupils in their learning. We
want our pupils to experience a curriculum which enables them to
be confident, resilient, innovative, respectful and have a
strong sense of community so that they are prepared to make a
positive contribution to society.
